BOY SCOUTING
Boy Scouting, one of the traditional membership divisions of the BSA, is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who are 11, but not yet 18 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
This is just a reminder that all leaders and parents attending BTSR this summer must have YPT training before arrival.  YPT training is good for two years from the date taken. It can be taken at
 
Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat will be offered to adult leaders at "The Old Folks Home" at BTSR on Monday of the week we are there, however, I would suggest taking those trainings online as well at www.samhoustonbsa.org/Home/Training/On-LineTraining/ to save time. 
 
Once you have completed these training courses, please e-mail me with your completion date so we can get the info into Troopmaster.

Schedule set so that any leader who starts in any of our programs may attend basic training in Polaris for their position within 90 days. Other dates/courses may be added if needed.

Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training (for Scoutmasters & assistant Scoutmasters): May 17

 

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (part of the required training for Scoutmasters & assistant Scoutmasters: two formats:

 

Overnight IOLS: arrive early Saturday, depart Sunday afternoon. Camp Strake.
